The Burlington Choral Society (BCS) is seeking an experienced accompanist for weekly rehearsals and formal and community concerts beginning Tuesday September 7, 2010.
The successful applicant to this salaried position provides keyboard accompaniment to BCS, and answers to the Music Director for direction on musical matters and to the Executive for direction on all other matters.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of:
* a high level of keyboard expertise with a strong emphasis on
rhythmic stability;
* the ability to play individual parts for rehearsal;
* the ability to follow a conductor;
* the ability to sight read when needed.
The Burlington Choral Society was formed in 1968 and has been serving the community and surrounding district ever since. The mixed voice choir performs in hospitals, retirement and nursing homes, churches, for civic occasions and on the concert stage. Included in the repertoire are songs from the classics, contemporary, sacred and folk music as well as show stoppers from Broadway.
